At 1:21PM volunteers
were alerted to a convenience store on Highway 231 where a
passing motorist had stopped with a medical problem. Rescue 4
and Rescue 1 responded with 5 volunteers. Upon arrival it was
deemed a serious event and a medical helicopter was requested.
Air Evac 15 responded at that time and Brindlee Mountain Engine
4 and Engine 3 were added to the call with an additional 4
volunteers to assist with the landing zone. Also on the call
were Arab EMS (Medic 443) and Arab Police Department (Unit 825).
We appreciate the support of the surrounding agencies. Chief
Whisenant had the incident command and FF/EMT Wessel had the LZ
command.
